    ... nur als kleine Erinnerung =:-D

  • Unterbringung
    Das Standquartier der Ausgrabung befindet sich in der Hütte eines lokalen Wandervereins. Dort ist ein großer Tagesraum, eine Küche, Dusche und Sanitäreinrichtungen. Neben diesem Gebäude wird ein (oder mehrere) große Zelt(e) aufgestellt, in denen die Teilnehmer ohne eigenes Zelt auf Feldbetten übernachten können.
    Nachts ist es manchmal recht kühl - sodaß es sich empfiehlt, einen warmen Schlafsack mitzubringen.
    Da leider nur Schaumstoffmatratzen auf den Lagerbetten sind, ist es bestimmt angenehm, eine Decke oder ein Bettuch als Unterlage mitzubringen.
    Es gibt auch warme kratzige Wolldecken aber...
    Manche Leute schnarchen sehr laut - wer da empfindlich ist, möge sich doch bitte Ohrstöpsel mitbringen =:-D
    Es gibt Platz für einige (wenige!) kleinere Zelte, für die Teilnehmer, die ihr eigenes Rucksackheim vorziehen

  • Essen
    Das Essen wird von lokal ansässigen Firmen gesponsort und es besteht die Möglichkeit vegetarischer Ernährung. Für die rechtzeitige Planung ist es sinnvoll, wenn Sie das betreffende Feld ankreuzen. Sollten Sie spezielle Wünsche haben - Wir werden sehen, was wir tun können....

  • Allgemeine Aufgaben und Hausarbeit
    Da wir chronisch an Unterfinanzierung leiden, müssen alle ein wenig mithelfen. Freiwillige werden zwar bevorzugt - doch wenn sich niemand meldet, muß jemand ausgedeutet werden. Es ist jedoch keine Schande, beim Vorbereiten des Frühstücks, bei der Essensausgabe am Mittag, beim Aufwaschen oder bei der Reinigung der Sanitäreinrichtungen mitzuhelfen. Zum Geschirr abwaschen, haben wir einen Industrie-Geschirrspüler als Hilfe

  • Zeitplan und Arbeitstage
    In den vergangenen Jahren wurde von Montags bis Freitags gearbeitet. Nun wurde vielfach der Wunsch herangetragen, daß man gerne mal an den Wochenenden zum Helfen vorbeikommen wolle, sodaß von Dienstag bis Samstag oder gar von Mittwoch bis Sonntag gearbeitet wird. Eine endgültige Entscheidung darüber ist noch nicht gefallen - wir werden Sie dabei auf dem Laufenden halten. Im Standquartier wird auf jeden Fall für die Verpflegung an den arbeitsfreien Tagen gesorgt, sodaß jeder auch gerne über die arbeitsfreien Tage bleiben kann.

  • Versicherung
    In den vergangenen Jahren waren die Teilnehmer gegen Unfälle und Verletzungen bei der Grabung versichert - voraussichtlich wird dies dieses Jahr auch wieder so sein. Im Zweifelsfall fragen Sie doch mal bei uns per E-mail nach.


  • Archäologische Arbeiten
    Wie bei der Hausarbeit gibt es auch bei den archäologischen Arbeiten eine Menge unterschiedlicher Tätigkeiten und wir werden versuchen, den einzelnen Wünschen und Fähigkeiten zu entsprechen - doch kann nicht jeder jeden Tag Excalibur ausgraben =:-D
    Was mich zu folgendem bringt:

  • Grabräuber und Schatzjäger
    Wir möchten an dieser Stelle ganz klar machen, daß für solche Leute KEIN RAUM auf der Grabung ist. Alle Funde müssen gesichert und an die Grabungsleitung gemeldet werden!
    Es ist niemandem erlaubt, irgendwelche Gegenstände von der Grabung mitzunehmen

  • Persönliche Sicherheitsausrüstung
    Aus Gründen der Sicherheit und aus versicherungstechnischen Gründen ist es erforderlich, daß bei der archäologischen Arbeit lange Hosen und festes Schuhwerk getragen wird. Diese sind mitzubringen, Arbeitshandschuhe werden gestellt


  • Teilnahmebestätigung
    Wie auch in den vergangenen Jahren bekommt jedeR TeilnehmerIn eine Teilnahmebestätigung - möglicherweise können Sie dies bei Ihrer Steuer geltend machen - befragen Sie bitte dazu Ihren Steuerberater oder Ihr Finanzamt

  • This is not a full service leisure event
    just as a reminder... =:-D

  • Accommodation
    The headquarter of the excavation is located in the cabin of a local ramblers club with a big room, kitchen, washing facilities etc. Next to that cabin, there will be the main accommodation of the participants in one or two big tents with camp beds. It's sometimes cold in the night, so bring with you a warm sleeping bag. Because there are only foam mattresses without any covers, it would be a good idea, to bring a bedspread with you.
    Also there are some warm scratchy woolen covers but...
    Because some people snort very loud, maybe you bring with you also some earplugs =:-D
    There is also room for some (few!) smaller tents for those who prefer their own backpack domicile

  • Transportation
    Information about transportation you can find on the cheatsheet

  • Food
    The food is sponsored by some local companies (and it's very good!) and there is the possibility, to get vergetarian food for our vegetarians. For better planning, please make shure, that you marked the according checkbox. If you have special wishes - we will try what we can...

  • Common duties and housework
    Because we are (chronically) low of funds, we have to do all duties and housework by our own. Volunteers are preferred, but if there are none, someone has to be pointed out! But it's no shame to prepare breakfast, to drive for retrieving food, to dispense lunch, to wash dishes (with a commercial dishwasher) or clean the washroom.

  • Timing and working days
    In the last years, we worked from mondays till fridays - but there is a big interest from the people in the villages around, so that we think of working from tuesdays till saturdays. By now, there is no definite decision. At the non working days, the headquarter is open and food is provided, so you can stay over the weekend (maybe except the last one)

  • Insurance
    In the last years, there was an insurance for injuries and accidents at the excavation - probably this will be likewise this year...: For more details ask the excavation mangement or drop us an email


  • Archaeological tasks and duties
    As with the housework, there are lot of duties at the excavation, and everything has to be done - so it might happen, that you will be asked to do some things, you are not familiar with. But no fear - there are lots of experts around, to explain you, what you have to do... and at last: Not everybody can find Excalibur every day =:-D
    This brings me to...

  • Tombraiders and treasure hunters
    We will make it very clear, that there is NO ROOM for those people at the excavation! ALL finds have to be saved and reported to the excavation management, according to the given rules.
    Nobody is allowed to take anything away from the excavation

  • Presonal security equipment
    For security reasons and for reasons of insurance, everybody who works archaeological at the hill has to wear long trousers and heavy and stable footwear (like trekking/hiking boots). We can't provide these so you have to bring them with you, working gloves will be provided.

  • Confirmation
    As in the last years, after the excavation, every participant will get a written confirmation about his/her participation - maybe this will be helpfull for your income tax... for more details ask your local tax consultant or your revenue office
